How to start thinking like an Entrepreneur

Hello!

My name is Jon and I run the Osborne Park Business Centre (OPBC) in Perth, WA.

I've been running my own business for a couple of years now and I have a passion for working with Startups, Innovators and people with a passion. In the course of providing various business services through our platform, one of the most interesting and rewarding experiences I encounter is when I'm speaking to clients and they share with me their dreams/ideas/stories of their plans and vision.

Not everybody is born with the fighting spirit, desire, resilience that an entrepreneur has. Most go through a baptism of fire and learn "on the job". So what are some things that set them apart from others?

According to Forbes, the Entrepreneurial spirit is a Mindset.

It is a Mindset and an Attitude and approach towards active thinking.

Active Thinking is one that actively seeks out change, rather than waiting to adapt to change.

"It’s a mindset that embraces critical questioning, innovation, service and continuous improvement."

“It’s about seeing the big picture and thinking like an owner,”

“It’s being agile, never resting on your laurels, shaking off the cloak of complacency and seeking out new opportunities. It’s about taking ownership and pride in your organization.”

Here is a great example of all the different qualities an entrepreneur is usually described as. They are not prerequisites to being acknowledged as an entrepreneur but rather milestones to hit as you go along your entrepreneurial journey. This distinction is important to note as you don't have to have to be the finished article before starting your own journey - the Key is to Begin and Start Moving Forward.

I encourage you to start thinking about your own goals, ideas and dream and reach out if you are thinking about starting your own business journey. I would be happy to help.

Cheers!!

Jon
